One piece, a whole display – Give your shop a focal point that draws customers across the room, with larger pieces to offer for gardens, spas, studios and hotel entrances.
Big statues, surprisingly light – A special concrete and fibre-resin blend allows impressive scale and detailed metallic or stone-effect finishes without the weight of solid stone.
Made by artisans in Java – Cast in a workshop near Yogyakarta where the teams also make life-sized horses, elephants and even dinosaurs.
A choice of atmosphere – Antique gold, turquoise and stone-effect finishes suit different interiors, with seated, standing, teaching and praying Buddha designs.
Make use of the walls – Iron-framed Buddha and Ganpati reliefs bring the same decorative impact to a wall, leaving valuable floor space free.
Packed for the journey – Statues are individually protected with foam padding and plastic wrapping on wooden pallets.
Big Buddhas from a rather interesting workshop
These pieces come from an artisan workshop on the outskirts of Yogyakarta, Java, where making a monumental Buddha is part of the working day. So is making a life-sized elephant. Teams of artisans cast the forms, working through several production stages to achieve the detail and finished appearance.
The combination of special concrete and fibre resin gives the statues their surprisingly light construction for their size. Gold, turquoise and stone-effect finishes bring out the robes, faces and decorative details.
A Buddha on a mountain
One AW customer installed a Giant Buddha on a mountaintop in Slovakia. An ambitious setting, certainly, but a lovely example of what happens when somebody sees the possibilities in a product.
Closer to home, a garden corner, spa entrance or hotel lobby gives these pieces room to be appreciated. In a shop, leave some clear space around the statue. Customers need to see the whole shape, rather than discover a Buddha behind a crowded shelf.
Selling, Display & Marketing Ideas
Show the scale – Photograph a statue beside a doorway or chair, with its dimensions clearly labelled. A close-up alone can make a giant Buddha look like a mantelpiece ornament.
Offer a setting – Show one piece in a garden or reception area so customers can picture where it would go.
Reach local businesses – A short illustrated selection for nearby spas, yoga studios, hotels and garden designers gives the larger pieces a useful audience beyond passing shop traffic.
NB: Most of these Buddhas need to be shipped on pallets. Customers within our warehouse's standard 1-2 day delivery area will receive them with Free Shipping, while those outside this area may incur a modest delivery charge.
