Banjara Tribal Smudge Incense
  • A strong repeat-purchase incense line – consumable, easy to display and with attractive recommended retail positioning, giving the retailer room for a good margin.

  • Distinctive Tribal Smudge incense – a slightly different proposition from everyday incense sticks, with around 10 sticks in each retail pack and plenty of Banjara character.

  • A good range – including popular Palo Santo, White Sage & Nag Champa,

  • Imported incense from India – a natural fit for gift shops, incense specialists, spiritual shops and alternative lifestyle retailers.

  • Packaging that catches the eye – colourful tribal-inspired artwork gives the collection a recognisable look and works especially well when several fragrances are displayed together.

  • Easy to cross-sell – place alongside incense holders, candles, crystals, smudging products and spiritual gifts to encourage those useful little add-on sales.

  • Plenty of reasons to come back – customers can start with familiar favourites such as Nag Champa or Sandalwood, then work their way through the more unusual fragrances.

  • Made for everyday rituals – suitable for customers who enjoy incense during meditation, yoga or quiet time, as well as those who simply want their home to smell good.

There is a nice little international story behind the Banjara Tribal Smudge Incense range.

These incense sticks were originally developed with the South American market in mind. Ancient Wisdom liked the concept and, with a few small adaptations, brought the range across for the UK and European market. So although the fragrances and artwork have something of a South American spirit, the incense itself comes from a very different incense-making tradition.

The sticks are made in Bangalore, India – one of the country's major incense-producing centres – by an ethical producer that Ancient Wisdom has worked with for many years.

That long relationship is important to us. Incense is one of those products where there are countless manufacturers to choose from, but when you find people who make good incense, understand what you need and are good to work with, you tend to stick with them.

The result is a slightly unusual meeting of worlds: Indian incense making with inspiration originally intended for South America, now adapted for gift shops, spiritual retailers and incense sellers across Europe.

And that is quite a nice little story to have up your sleeve when somebody picks up a packet and asks, “What's this one?”
